“I am running for Supervisor of East Goshen Township because I believe in giving back to the community where I live.“
Ordained in the United Methodist Church, Barbara spent 17 years as a pastor with churches in Oregon and Pennsylvania. In 2005 she completed a chaplain residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. After working at HUP for five years, she
joined the Paoli Hospital staff where she established and managed the hospital’s Spiritual Care Department. As head of the department, Barbara developed skills supervising both staff and volunteers. Leadership positions in non-profit organizations have given Barbara experience managing fiscally responsible budgets that respect budgets built on contributions. Her chaplaincy experience uniquely equips her to listen to diverse needs and voices and navigate challenging conversations for the benefit of all.
Barbara and her husband Keith have been residents of East Goshen (Yardley Village in Hershey’s Mill) for three and a half years. Before moving to Hershey’s Mill, they lived in Spring City, Chester County for 20 years. While living in Spring City, Barbara served on their homeowners association. Barbara and Keith have three adult children and two grandchildren. Barbara volunteers with the Chester County Concert Band where she plays clarinet and serves as the librarian. She also volunteers with the Paoli Hospital Auxiliary. Barbara holds degrees from Eastern New Mexico University, Princeton Theological Seminary and San Francisco Theological Seminary.
